On 27th July 2024 (Saturday), today, a new overseas sister group of AKB48, "KLP48”, was established in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The first-generation members were announced at today’s press conference.

- Hillary (Hong Kong)

With four members from Japan joining the group and additional members from Indonesia and Hong Kong, KLP48 aims to shine from the heart of Asia, promoting a worldwide presence under the slogan "I shine from the heart of Asia”.
